This LeBron is often called the best version of LeBron. Miami Heat teammate Chris Bosh weighed in with his thoughts on JJ Redick’s podcast, describing how it was like playing with Bron in that stretch.

“Yeah, I think he was on another planet. It got a point where we were just like, ‘I am a pretty good basketball player but I’m watching him do this thing and I don’t know what the hell is going on.’

“I don’t know where he is and he was shooting like 60% for weeks. He wasn’t missing and he made it easy for us.”

Bosh added, “He was very motivated to be successful and I think us as a unit, the way we played the game, it allowed him to be successful. And then I think he was able to play off the ball a lot.

“I think once he went to Cleveland, he had the ball in his hand more and was asked to do more. Which is still the case in LA and I don’t know how he keeps up with it.”

LeBron James peaked in Miami?

While the best LeBron achievement came in Cleveland, he did peak as a player in Miami. In his four seasons there, LeBron averaged 26.9 points, 6.7 assists, and 7.6 rebounds. In his final two seasons, he shot over 60% from the field, not something common for players with LeBron’s level of usage.

Before Steph Curry became the first unanimous MVP in NBA history, LeBron came close to that distinction. He got 99 first-place votes, losing one to another 2003 Draft member, Carmelo Anthony.

LeBron James didn’t reach the levels of individual dominance he did in Miami ever again. However, as his game has matured, he has become a better passer and a more perceptive player. He controls the pace of the game now, which enables everyone around him for more success.
