Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol were the poster boys for the utopian idea of an unbreakable friendship. They teamed up from 2008 to 2014 and achieved tremendous success while playing together. If not for the combo of these two, winning the titles in 2009 and 2010 would have been impossible for the Lakers. 

The Kobe-Gasol duo was equally connected and tightly knit, even off the court. The tragic death of Kobe Bryant earlier this year absolutely devastated Pau. But the 7’1” kept a true friend’s obligations alive and stayed true to his relation with the Bryants even after the loss. His social media posts are just small chunks of proof of how much he cares for Kobe’s family, even in his absence.

King Pow, to this day, ensures that he spends as much time with the Bryant family as he can. Not just him, but Pau’s family is also fond of the Bryants. Pau recently shared a heartwarming post of him celebrating Halloween with the Bryant family. It goes without saying that the wound left by Kobe’s loss won’t heal so easily for anyone. But Pau is surely doing his bit to help the Black Mamba’s family to overcome it by making the most of certain happy moments.

Even the 17-year-old Natalia Bryant keeps sharing stuff about her meeting with uncle Pau. She recently posted a picture from her golf practice with the 40-year-old. She wrote, “I think I found my golfing buddy @paugasol aka Bryant & Gasol pt.2”

On July 6, Gasol celebrated his 40th birthday with the Bryants. He spent time with Kobe’s daughters. Even on Gigi’s 14th birthday, her uncle ‘Pablo’ sent a very cute cake to ensure she enjoyed the day in the tastiest of ways. Once, he also shared a picture of him sporting a ‘mambacita’ Gigi Bryant bracelet. 

Gasol has been every bit the loyal friend and has made sure the Bryant family enjoys special occasions!
