The Houston Rockets have succeeded in retaining James Harden by trading Russell Westbrook for John Wall. Fans are excited to see the duo get in action, but there lies a more important question. How much are the Rockets paying Harden for the 2020/21 NBA season?

Harden signed a 4-year deal with the Rockets in 2016 and followed it up with a massive extension during July 2017. The deal’s value eclipsed expectations and became the largest contract in NBA history at the time.

People were blown away as it was a 4-year $170 million extension. Harden’s deal will keep him with the Rockets till 2022, with the subsequent season being a player option.

How will Houston Rockets thrive under the new pairing of James Harden and John Wall? 

The trade between the Rockets and the Wizards is certainly a roof-raising one. Two extraordinary point guards in Russell Westbrook and John Wall switched teams, and the latter is returning from multiple injuries.

It might take Wall a few games to resurrect his prime form, but one can never count him out. Though they’ve never played together, it seems like John Wall can be the perfect player to complement James Harden.

Both are excellent facilitators and Wall will ease Harden’s responsibilities in the team. Kevin Durant recently played with Wall and the Nets star was extremely impressed. 

“Looked amazing to me, he looked great,” said Durant about the 5x All-Star. Things appear to be much better at the Rockets franchise than they were a week or two ago. They’ve added a dynamic star to pair with Harden and only time can tell us how it pays off!
