The Western Conference duel between the Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets is nearing its end. Though the Lakers are the heavy favorites to win it all, this Denver team is different from their previous opponents.

The Nuggets are on a mission and refuse to go down without a fighting chance. It was on full display, both against the Clippers and Jazz, when they overcame a 3-1 deficit on both occasions, making them the only team in the history of the NBA to accomplish this feat in a single playoff run.

Can this Nuggets team upset the Lakers as well? Former Nuggets point guard Emmanuel Mudiay discussed the very question with NBA analyst Scoop B on the ‘Scoop B Show’.

“I’m not putting nothing past them. Everybody was thinking that the Clippers were going to go ahead and do their thing to them. But, and the reason why I say this is because I know those guys personally. Like, if I didn’t know ‘em, I would’ve been like whatever. But I know them, and I know the drive that they have. I know that they wanna win and like, they’re going to play hard regardless.

“You KNOW Jokic is going to have the ball, you KNOW Murray is going to have the ball; you KNOW ‘Bron and AD are going to have the ball, but now it’s other people stepping up even if those guys have an off game, just other people stepping up and coming up big.”

The Lakers could have gone up 3-0 in the series and push the Nuggets on the brink of elimination. Instead, the Nuggets took one game from the Lakers, and the series is now 2-1. Maybe this Denver team has the potential to make it all the way to finals after all?

Talking from the perspective of the purple and gold, they must be a little worried after losing Game 3 in the WCF. In fact, the Nuggets flat out outplayed LA and gave fans another memorable game in this postseason run.

However, Lakers’ superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis are terrific players and amazing leaders. They just need to put the previous game in the past and focus on bouncing back in Game 4.
