2020 has been a tough year for everyone. We are witnessing a pandemic and for a moment the world just stopped. Amidst the pandemic, the NBA successfully resumed the NBA in the Orlando bubble.  The Los Angeles Lakers won their 17th NBA title in the bubble beating Miami Heat.

Big Baller Brand’s CEO LaVar Ball on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay said that he wasn’t surprised that the Lakers won the championship. Ball said, “No. They are in the bubble, in the bubble all this stuff goes right.”

He added, “I’m glad they won. Lakers are always my team because I’m from LA. But the success that they have man you’re in the bubble playing in the same place you got the two best players you’re supposed to win.”

LaVar also joked about his earlier claims that Lakers won’t win without Lonzo. He said, “I told they need to send me a thank you card on the fact that I gave them incentive to win.

“You know they was talking about that for a whole year. What did you say last year somebody remembered that’s how I’d be living in people’s head and you know what just so they can say I told you he was wrong I still go to bed take me a nap eat my donuts and I don’t think about nothing they’ve been thinking about this the whole year.”

What can we expect from the Lakers this season?

The Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the busiest teams this off season.

LeBron and team have added a much younger duo of Dennis Schroder from the OKC Thunder and Montrezl Harrell of the Los Angeles Clippers. They also signed 34-year-old wing Wesley Matthews from the Milwaukee Bucks.

They have also added Marc Gasol and added a couple of players in Alfonzo McKinnie and Jordan Bell to fill the roster spots.

The Lakers might have lost some experienced veterans, but they are adding more pieces for their future who can also play more minutes. Both Schroder and Harrell are entering their prime and can add much more points than that of Howard or Rondo.

Gasol is an experienced veteran who can defend and also shoot from the three. Wes Matthews meanwhile is a great defender and produces similar output to Danny Green.

Given how small their available cap space was the Lakers have been the clear winners of this off-season. These signings and trades along with LeBron and Davis have put them in the driver’s seat to win next year’s championship.
