Every NBA fan remembers the time when LeBron James moved to the Miami Heat, leaving Cavaliers fans devastated. He won two titles with the Heat, but the job with the Cavs was not done. So he came back to Cleveland only to find the Warriors charging heavily on almost every team. That’s when he found his answer in Kyrie Irving.

The duo along with Kevin Love managed to help the franchise put an end to the city’s 52-year long title drought. Today, both the players have taken their services to distinct conferences. However, some exchanges from their individual interviews have trapped them into uncomfortable conversations.

Kyrie Irving vs LeBron James

To read these two names in the verses war is tough, but that is what’s going on lately. In a recent interview, the 28-year-old Ky made a comment that placed Kevin Durant at the highest point on his list of clutch players. This seemingly did not go well with LeBron James as he retaliated in one of his interviews. The 4-time NBA champion exclaimed, “I only wanted to see him be an MVP of our league. I only cared about his success and it just didn’t align… I only cared about his well-being both on and off the floor, and it kind of hurt me a little bit.”

It was LeBron James’ miraculous performance that helped the Cavs pull off one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the NBA Finals. The Cavs bounced back after trailing 1-3 to win the series. Kyrie himself played a crucial role in game 7 to ensure the Warriors’ winning crusade stopped. Now, him placing KD above Bron must have pinched the reigning champion.

When was the last time the two were in news for something of this sort?

Back in 2017, there was news that things were not going well between LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. Celebrated NBA Analyst Stephen A. Smith had then claimed that a source had told him, “If Kyrie Irving was in front of LeBron James right now, LeBron James would be tempted to beat his A**”. This came after Irving requested a trade back then. It was largely perceived that his demanding a trade showed LeBron in a bad light.

Earlier in that same year, the Akron Hammer had said, “It’s been a sh***y 2017 so far” and demanded a backup playmaker point guard. Many believed this was him poking at Kyrie, but all of these talks remained nothing more than rumors.

The two enjoyed great success together until they decided to part ways, leaving Kevin Love in charge of the Cavaliers. The two legends will next face one another in February when the Lakers will finally meet the Nets in a regular-season game.
