LeBron James serves as an inspiration for many young basketball players. The three-time NBA champion is one of the most successful athletes to ever play in the league. LeBron is still going strong at the age of 35 and is extremely close to winning his 4th championship ring. If you have faced LeBron on the court, you would know how much of a menace he is to guard.

Unfortunately, not many people have had the opportunity to feature in the NBA and compete against LeBron James, but 23-year-old Eric Paschall has dreamt of it and fulfilled it. The Golden State Warriors selected Paschall in the second round of the 2019 draft.

When pre-season started, Steve Kerr wanted to test Paschall’s abilities and often gave him chances to prove his worth on the court. Paschall impressed the boss with his talent, as the rookie is also a former NCAA champion.

The first pre-season game for the Warriors was against the Los Angeles Lakers. For 23-year-old Paschall, it was a big test. The Lakers had the mighty pairing of Anthony Davis and LeBron James. His welcome to the NBA couldn’t have been presented in a more grand manner.

Paschall recently joined Howard Beck on ‘The Full 48’ podcast, where the rookie explained his first-ever meeting with King James. “My welcome to the NBA moment was definitely in my first preseason game,” Paschall said, as transcribed by NBC Sports. “I didn’t expect to be the first person in off the bench. So coach Kerr’s like, ‘Eric!’ He laughs in my face and just goes, ‘You got AD.’

“So I have to guard AD, I have to guard LeBron,” Paschall exclaimed. Having come off a college team, Paschall got to know the standard of the NBA by guarding LeBron James. “I played all right,” he said. “LeBron bullied me for the first time. I thought I was a strong guy until I met him, so that was kind of crazy. But the next time, I bumped him just so he doesn’t bully me again.”
