Kevin Garnett is now a part of the legendary class of 2020 that will enter the Basketball Hall of Fame in August. Alongside, the Boston Celtics recently announced that they will retire Garnett’s No. 5 jersey.

Garnett, a 15-time NBA All-Star, has played six years for the Celtics between 2007 and 2013. Before joining the Celtics, Garnett played 12 years for the Minnesota Timberwolves after coming into the NBA in 1995.

While Garnett’s Celtics jersey will be retired in a ceremony during the next season, he does not seem to want to partake in any such ceremony with the Wolves. In an interview with The Athletic after his Hall of Fame selection, Garnett quoted his relations with the Wolves owner for not wanting his jersey retired.

“Glen knows where I’m at, I’m not entertaining it. First of all, it’s not genuine. Two, he’s getting pressure from a lot of fans and, I guess, the community there. Glen and I had an understanding before Flip died, and when Flip died, that understanding went with Flip. For that, I won’t forgive Glen. I won’t forgive him for that. I thought he was a straight up person, straight up business man, and when Flip died, everything went with him,” he said.
