The NBA champion immediately became friends with Jong-Un when he met him at a basketball trip to Pyongyang in 2013. Then in 2014, Rodman brought a bunch of NBA stars with him to meet Kim Jong-Un at an exhibition game. Apparently Jong-Un is a big fan of basketball.

Their friendship seems bizarre, but it is also reported that the supreme leader of North Korea is a big Chicago Bulls fan. That might be the reason why Rodman and Jong-Un hit it off very well. Jong-Un’s father even tried to invite Michael Jordan to North Korea, but MJ denied the invite.

Several reports suggested that he is critically unwell after a cardiovascular procedure. Dennis Rodman was quick to come to the aid of his friend with his prayers. “I hope it’s just a rumor that Marshal Kim Jong Un is sick,” Rodman told TMZ sports. “Hopefully I will find out more soon.”

Rodman last visited North Korea in 2017 and has been asking his ‘friend’ Donald Trump to strengthen the ties between the two nations ever since. “There is still so much work we have to do between both the USA and DPRK,” Rodman said. “If he is not feeling well, I am praying for his speedy recovery, so that both my friends [President Trump & Marshal Kim] can continue towards a peaceful success.”

Kim Jong-Un even asked the US to send basketball players to his country before he met with the POTUS in 2019. Such is his profound love for the game of ball.

Rodman, a five-time NBA champion has even been on jet-ski trips and shared drinks with the 36-year-old leader. His friendship with Kim Jong-Un looks to be a very tight one considering the trips they have taken together.

However, in this difficult time for Jong-Un and his family, we wish him a speedy recovery from his ailments and hope he gets back to watching his favorite sport again.
