Avery Bradley was a crucial player for the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2019-20 regular season. But he did not join the team in the NBA restart in the Orlando Bubble.

Bradley has left the Lakers now and joined last season’s finalists Miami Heat. In a recent revelation, the Heat guard has revealed how difficult it was to sit through in the NBA Finals.

According to NBA insider Ira Winderman, Bradley said, “It was really hard for me. It was hard. It was tough. The championship game, my hands were sweating.”

Bradley was a key piece in Frank Vogel’s defensive setup. He was the starting guard for the Lakers and played 49 games for them. He was solid defensively but had a solid contribution in the offense averaging 8.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists across 24.2 minutes per game.

Entering this offseason, the Lakers were hopeful about re-signing the 30-year-old. But Bradley opted to sign a 2-year deal worth $11.6 million with the Heat.

How have the Lakers replaced Avery Bradley

The champions had a great core of guards last season with Rajon Rondo, Avery Bradley, and Quinn Cook. After all their moves till now, they only have Quinn Cook and Bradley and Rondo leaving them.

To fill the void that was left by Bradley and Rondo, they have brought in a great point guard in Dennis Schroder. Schroder propelled the Thunder to the 5th seed.

He is a 26-year-old approaching his prime in the coming years. He is a good distributor of the ball and is a decent three point shooter. With Bradley gone, Schroder might start for the team.

Apart from that, LeBron James has always been the prime distributor of the ball. He averaged around 10 assists per match for the last season. For this season, they will depend on LeBron to do the same.

They did re-sign Quinn Cook. Cook has proved to be a decent backup. With matches, coming thick and fast, Cook might have more playing time than last season.

The loss of Rondo and Bradley are very big setbacks for the team, but with LeBron and Schroder as the primary distributors, they can survive.
