James Harden to Combine With NBA Hall of Famer For an Iconic Crossover Sneaker

In a historic crossover, Nike and Adidas release a new pair of sneakers combining the pairs of Hall of Famer Allen Iverson and Houston Rockets star James Harden.

Named “OG Meets OG,” the sneaker will combine the features of the first signature shoes of Harden and Iverson. The iconic shoe is set to release on August 7, with its price reported to be around $150.

Today, as part of its next partnership with Adidas, Reebok officially debuts the Question Mid Iverson x Harden ‘OG Meets OG,’ a distinct crossover between Iverson and Harden’s first signature sneakers,” Reebok said in a statement (via Sports Illustrated). “The silhouette introduces the Harden Vol. 1 colorway to the historic Question Mid canvas, paying homage to two of basketball’s most influential on-and-off-court icons of all time.”

Iverson also posted a short video clip on his twitter announcing the collaboration.

Iverson and Harden have a similar style of play. Harden is, in many ways, the flamboyant point guard that Iverson was in his generation.

Iverson started his career in 1996 with Philadelphia 76ers. Winning the Rookie of the Year award in his first season, he soon became a star man in the NBA. He was an NBA All-Star for 11 consecutive seasons between 1999 and 2010. In his 14-year career. Moreover, Iverson was the NBA Scoring Champion on four occasions. Additionally, his feats include winning the award for two consecutive seasons in 2001 and 2002.

Harden, into his 11th season in the NBA, has had similar success. He has been the NBA Scoring Champion for two seasons running, and has a good chance to win it for the third consecutive season this year.

Iverson has been vocal of his appreciation for Harden. In an interview with ESPN earlier this year, Iverson said: “Harden deserves all the praise that he gets. There’s always going to be somebody out there saying he could do something else better than what he’s doing. I think he just keeps his foot to the pedal. Because I know his teammates love having him in that foxhole and rocking with him night in and night out.”
