When you talk about leaders in the NBA, LeBron James is one of the first names to pop up in your mind. Since his arrival in the league, he has shown maturity and leadership skills, leading every team he has been a part of. So when the Los Angeles Lakers signed him, not only did they get one of the best players in the league, but also one of the greatest leaders to have graced the game.

So it wasn’t surprising that Lakers guard Alex Caruso praised LeBron for standing out as a leader. Along with LeBron, he also mentioned Jared Dudley as a vocal presence. Ryan Ward from Clutch Points tweeted that Caruso said James and Dudley “have done a great job of keeping everyone connected.

In the 2019 Free Agency, the Lakers signed Dudley for a veteran minimum. This gave rise to a few jokes on the internet since Dudley was 34 and was barely averaging 5 points per game. However, those people failed to realize that Dudley was brought in for his leadership skills. Not to lead the scoring charts. But he has also shown off his sharpshooting skills, with a few clutch three-pointers off the bench.

Along with Dudley, Anthony Davis has also been a leader for the Lakers. He may not be a natural leader, but he has stepped up and Dudley praised him for it. “When it comes to Anthony Davis, (he) doesn’t get enough credit as far as being a leader. Pushing LeBron. People always think it’s LeBron to AD. People don’t see that side.”

Having so many leaders can result in too many chefs spoiling the broth, but the Lakers have been doing well. With the NBA return just around the corner, the Lakers will be expecting LeBron to lead on the court again and end the 10-year title drought for the Lake Show.
