The unthinkable happened for the Phoenix Suns this offseason. While the Suns have been busy making blockbuster additions to their team with players like Chris Paul, this has been coming with a heavy prize that their fans cannot digest. The team saw an immense loss when Kelly Oubre Jr. was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder and subsequently to the Golden State Warriors.
In 2018, Kelly was acquired from the Washington Wizards for Trevor Ariza. It didn’t take very long for Oubre to become a fan favorite and just as important to the franchise as Devin Booker.
Undoubtedly, Kelly brought about a much-needed boost to the team. The Suns were finishing with worse records every season, but his presence changed the locker room for the better.

It was Oubre’s ability to deliver big during clutch moments that made him one of Phoenix’s best players. He also came off the bench instantly and earned his place in the starting lineup, playing the best basketball of his career during the 2018-19 campaign.
Oubre will be a great asset for the Warriors as well. His versatility alongside Andrew Wiggins will create a type of dynamic fans haven’t seen in the Golden State for many seasons.
