The Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t finish the job in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. They were defeated by the utter brilliance of Jimmy Butler and the Heat down the final stretch. The Heat showed incredible hustle and won the game by just 3 points!

Their leader Jimmy Butler had yet another all-time great performance, capping it off with another triple-double. On the Lakers’ front, LeBron James matched Butler point for point and finished the game with 40 points.

Moreover, KCP had a fabulous outing and passed Lakers legend Kobe Bryant for three-points record in a single postseason for the Lakers.

Although KCP finished the game with a 6/15 shooting night, he drained three long-range bombs when it mattered. However, the same couldn’t be said for Lakers guard Danny Green, who missed a wide-open shot to take the lead in the dying minutes of the game.

Following the Game 5 victory, the Heat have lived to fight for another day. The question remains: Is this a chance for the Heat to make an epic comeback?

Should the Lakers be worried after losing Game 5?

The LA Lakers were wearing the Black Mamba jerseys today, and it’s the first time they have tasted defeat in them. Moreover, Butler was a problem the entire game, and the Lakers had no answer for him. Moving forward, L.A. still holds a 1 game lead over the Heat, but they shouldn’t let them change the tides of the game.

Currently, the Heat have massive momentum on their side after finishing strong in a close game. Additionally, if veteran guard Goran Dragic returns for Game 6, it will mean more trouble for the Lakers.

In essence, the purple and gold should finish things off in Sunday’s Game 6, otherwise, they are on the path of the 2016 Golden State Warriors. James and AD need to be aggressive like they were in Game 5 and help boost the morale of the supporting cast.

But what do you think? Will the purple and gold be able to close out the series in six games? Or will we witness another magnificent performance from the Heat?
