Klay Thompson Injury: NBA Insider Reveals the Severity of the Warriors Star Injury

It was not the 2020 NBA Draft Day the Golden State Warriors would have been hoping for. While the Warriors have plenty to celebrate as they welcome former Memphis center, James Wiseman with their N0. 2 overall pick, they have more to worry about their star player, Klay Thompson.
According to Shams Charania, “Klay Thompson suffered an injury during a workout this afternoon in Southern California. And I’m told the fear is that it’s a heel injury. And obviously, anytime you injure the heel, you have fears. Maybe it’s an Achilles. But for Klay Thompson, he went to the sidelines, I’m told. And he was getting worked on in that heel area. After that, he limped off and didn’t put any pressure on his lower leg and he exited the gym. Now the Warriors… there are concerns.”
Charania added, “He will get a test in the near future, an MRI to really reveal the significance of the injury. But this impacts the Warriors in a lot of ways. Klay Thompson is their star.”

Golden State Warriors without Klay Thompson?
The 30-year-old All-Star guard was hoping to make his return this season after he suffered from an ACL tear during the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors. He was given clearance to train with no restrictions in mid-June this year. This was an entire year after his previous injury. But it looks like the worst is not over for Klay.
Thompson has a five-year $190 million deal with the Warriors since last year’s free agency. If worse comes to worst, and if Thompson has to sit out another season, it won’t be good for the Warriors.
