The Dallas Mavericks and LA Clippers have locked horns for Game 6 of this tightly fought first-round series. This game is vital for both teams, especially for Luka Doncic-led Mavericks, considering they are down 3-2.

Luka Doncic and Marcus Morris have already brawled once in the series. Things got heated up again between the two in Game 6. Doncic was driving to the lane and Morris tried to stop the 21-year-old. Instead, he slapped Doncic on the back of his head.

The two players almost got into a brawl, but Boban Marjanovic held Doncic to prevent any further action. However, the story was different for Morris. Officials gave him a flagrant 2 foul and the Clippers forward was ejected from the game.

Did Luka Doncic initiate the fight?

At first look, Doncic looks completely innocent. However, according to Skip Bayless, it was Doncic who initiated contact with Morris.

“Once again, Doncic starts it by throwing an elbow into Marcus Morris on the drive. Morris retaliates with a flagrant shot to the side of the head – ejected. Doncic started it last game w sucker punch to the back of RJackson’s head. THEN Morris stepped on the shoe of injured foot.” said Bayless about the altercation.

Skip further landed the blame on Luka after tweeting:

“Doncic: Wolf in sheep’s clothing.”

There may be some truth to Skip’s claims as Doncic has looked frustrated this entire series. He has constantly been complaining about the calls made by the referees. Moreover, being down 3-2 without Kristaps Porzingis could also have impacted Doncic’s recent behavior.

Whatever be the reason, Morris’ actions were not justified by any means. In Game 5, Morris could have worsened Doncic’s left ankle injury by stepping on it. And this time, he simply slapped Doncic.

In any case, the Mavericks will need to focus on the task at hand, which is to push the series to Game 7. Can Luka Doncic and the Mavericks tie the series? Or will the Clippers take home the W? That remains the question of the hour.
