By now, the news about how and why LA Clippers star Lou Williams left the bubble must have become familiar among NBA fans. The league veteran exited the Orlando bubble for personal reasons which was to visit the viewing of Paul G. Williams, who happened to be the father of a close family friend.

However, Williams did not return into the bubble straight back. He took a small detour for dinner and relished a nice time at “Magic City” in Atlanta. The Clippers player has publicly stated in the past that this particular gentleman’s club is his favorite in the world.

Moreover, Magic City’s great gesture for Lou Williams would have only made him visit them even more. Williams has a dish named after him on their menu, which many might consider to be a privilege.

NBA Veteran Publicly Hits Out At Lou Williams For His Actions

Though Williams remains rather casual about the whole issue, he now has to face the consequences of it. The NBA has asked him to self-quarantine for ten days which means he’ll miss two seeding games for the Clippers. A huge blow indeed for Doc Rivers and his team.

Many did not support Lou Williams of his actions when his other colleagues were inside a closed bubble following several guidelines. Kendrick Perkins stated his disappointment and expressed that he should be setting a better example than this.

“Come on Lou Will, you gotta do better, man,” Perkins said. “During this pandemic, you have to do better.” He spoke about the issue in a recent episode of ESPN’s Get Up where he also brought out the amount of work the NBA is doing in order to keep the environment safe. Williams attending a public space and coming back into the bubble is certainly unsafe and Perkins feels he might risk it all by doing that.

“Lou Will is a 16-year vet. He knows better,” Perkins added. “He should know how to be more mature. You got a guy that’s a rookie in Zion Williamson who left for a family issue and he handled it way better than Lou. We didn’t hear a word.”

Perkins then detailed how these events might affect the Clippers’ momentum ahead of the restart. “On another note, it just adds another distraction for the Clippers. For as them trying to win the title. Now they gotta answer questions and do media about something that they shouldn’t even have to be worried about.”

Lou Will responds to Perkins and states his honest take on the whole scenario

Over the past week, Lou Williams would have been hearing and reading a humongous amount of news about himself. He chose to remain straight forward about his visit to Magic City. Looking at Perkins’ comments agitated the 33-year-old and he couldn’t help but deliver a feisty response.

Williams asked Perkins to “shut up” through his tweet and here is how the Clippers guard replied to Kendrick Perkins:

Besides responding to Perkins, Lou Williams felt the need to post another tweet on his stance. “I went home to see a man off to his final resting place that was a giant in my life. I don’t want that to get lost in all this attention,” Williams wrote.
