The GOAT debate is a delicate subject in the NBA. Over the years, many players have been in the conversation to clinch that prosperous title. Lakers superstar LeBron James is a top candidate to become the GOAT, and his teammate Alex Caruso agrees with that take.

Caruso explained his reasoning in the “JJ Redick Podcast.” He said:

When I grew up, I had this fascination with highlights and I was a huge Michael Jordan fan… I’ve never seen full games or see him play in person, all you get are these highlights, you’ve got game winners, you just got them locking people up, you got them dunking. In my head, I’am like, he does it all and this is like the best dude to ever do it.

And then LeBron comes in like 2003 and we start watching him and then I get older and I start realizing more about basketball… I don’t know when it changed but there was somewhere around the year six-seven-eight for Lebron, when I was like this dude’s got to be the best basketball player to ever play. There is nobody that can do what he’s doing and then he did it for another 10 years.”

Even after being in the league for 17 years, James is yet to slow down. In the 2019-20 NBA season, he finished second in the MVP voting as well, which Caruso believed that LBJ should have won. Regardless of losing the MVP race, James led the Lakers to the 2020 NBA Championship.

Additionally, the team will enter the 2020-21 season as the team to beat in the NBA.

If Bron can win a few more rings with the Lakers, it will improve his case even further. However, that is not going to be an easy task by any means. The competition in the league is only going to increase in the coming years.

With James turning 36 years in the coming months, there is not much time left for him to win more rings. He is on the clock to win as many rings as possible in the last few years of his fabulous career.
