LeBron James is a lot in the news nowadays. While he’s busy working out like a madman and showing off his ripped body to his millions of Instagram followers, he’s also gained a lot of unnecessary attention owing to Michael Jordan’s The Last Dance documentary. Analysts and former players have compared him to Jordan, drawing similarities and comparisons. But LeBron is unfazed by all of this.

However, LeBron has some pretty important news for his fans. After a 25 year wait after the release of Space Jam featuring Michael Jordan, the sequel to the film will be released in 2021 featuring LeBron himself. He went to social media to break the news surrounding the movie. He further released the name of the movie: “Space Jam A New Legacy”

The project was announced as early as 2014 by Warner Bros. But it was only until 2019 that the production of the movie began. Now after a tireless wait, fans know its about to release in 2021.

Space Jam featuring Michael Jordan

The first Space Jam, starring Michael Jordan, wasn’t a favorite among the critics. However, it did really well at the box office and holds a special place in the heart of fans. The movie stands as the highest selling basketball movie of all time. Whether LeBron will be able to beat Jordan with the grossings will be interesting.

As is always the case, fans and analysts will use even a kids movie to draw up comparisons between the two. Who grosses more will be considered a testament of their respective popularities. In all fairness, we hope this isn’t the case.
