Although the league remains suspended, superstar LeBron James seems to remember the original schedule of the league.

As per the schedule, Los Angeles Lakers were to play Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday. Cleveland has a special place in James’ life. It is not only his home town but it is also a place where James has spent 11 out of his 17 seasons in the NBA. James, on Thursday, took to Twitter to say he was missing revisiting his old team.

“Was so looking forward to being back in Cleveland tonight playing in front of my family, friends and fans I spent 11 years of my career with. Always a special place in my heart,” a tweet from James’ Twitter handle read.

James’ 11 years in Cleveland came at two different stints. After starting the career with them in 2003, the Akron native moved to Miami Heat in 2010. He came back to the Cavaliers in 2014 for another four-year stint during which he led to an NBA Championship. Appearing as a guest on the Road Trippin’ Podcast, James fondly remembered his Championship run and his time with the team.

“It’s always special going back there and looking up there and look at that banner,” James said, referring to the 2016 championship banner. “Think about all the great memories that we had. And then being able to play in front of my friends and family again. That would have been so cool. … I’m kind of bummed out about that.”

LeBron James is not a big fan of playing without fans

While there is a possibility the NBA resumes its season, it could be in the absence of the fans. However, James doesn’t really like the idea of it.

“What is the word ‘sport’ without ‘fan’?” James asked during his podcast session. “There’s no excitement. There’s no crying. There’s no joy. There’s no back-and-forth.

“That’s what also brings out the competitive side of the players to know that you’re going on the road in a hostile environment and yes, you’re playing against that opponent in front of you, but you really want to kick the fans’ ass too.”
