Delonte West is a retired NBA star who competed for several years in the league. He played with the Dallas Mavericks in 2012 before retiring. After exiting the league, West tried his hand in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), but couldn’t sustain for long. The 37-year-old is now in a grave situation, deprived of all his riches he earned during his time as an NBA athlete.

West memorably played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he was a controversial teammate to LeBron James. He emerged as an above-average scorer in the league, but was diagnosed with bipolar disorder soon after.

Things went rough for Delonte West after his NBA retirement. Last year, a video of him surfaced in a disheartening condition, which alarmed his former colleagues enough to reach out and help him. West was handsomely paid in the NBA, but he seems to have drained all of it.

A recent photo showed Delonte West on the streets begging for money. This raised serious concerns among the NBA and its players’ association. Back in January, West was also reported to be involved in a street fight

The former NBA star has been pushed towards rehabilitation by his family, but he stayed reluctant about it. But now, after several messages of persuasion, West has now agreed to undergo treatment. West’s gracious ex-boss learned about his downhill situation and raced to pick him up from the streets of Dallas and offer help.

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is helping Delonte West get his life back on track

It is often said that Mark Cuban is one of the best owners in the NBA. It is very much true. The billionaire businessman has been an ardent servant to the community, and he never forgets about the players who once donned his team’s jersey.

Before West’s condition could get any worse, Cuban stepped in and offered his timely support. Though Delonte West only stayed with the Dallas Mavericks for a year, he is assured of complete support by its owner.

As a player, Delonte West averaged 9.7 points per game and 3.6 assists per game in his career. Hoping for his life to take a better turn now, with all the support that he’s receiving.
