The Minnesota Timberwolves have a lot to change within the organization. The team just has only playoff appearance since 2005, which is a worrying sight. However, they have the #1 pick in the upcoming 2020 NBA Draft, but the team is yet to lock in on their target.

The Wolves struck gold at the Draft Lottery that was held in August. Similar to their 2015 campaign, the franchise has now received the first overall pick in the draft. There are several top prospects this year, who are in contention of being picked by the lottery teams.

The Wolves’ front office is intrigued by the amazing depth in this year’s draft class. Holding a #1 pick is always pressure as everyone expects you to get it right. There are already mock drafts going on and CBS predicts LaMelo Ball to end up as the #1 pick and join the Wolves.

“There’s no guy that has separated himself from the pack from public or external view, but I’m very confident that as we go through this process, the talent will rise to the top and we’ll be confident about identifying one guy as the best guy, the best-talented player with the most upside and most ability for our organization,” Rosas said, as per Eric Woodyard of ESPN.

Minnesota Timberwolves are looking at every possible option they have in hand

There are several talks about who’ll go #1 in the 2020 draft. LaMelo Ball is a serious name in the mix, and Anthony Edwards is a one too! The former Georgia Bulldog is an extremely talented shooter, who can suit well with the Wolves’ style.

But the team will look into every detail put up by the player in his college year and will chart out all possible options they can use by selecting him. “For us, we typically study the draft from 1 to whatever number we feel like is a draftable player,” Rosas mentioned.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have finished last in the Northwest division for two years running. The 2020 draft might be the opportunity for them to try and turn the tables. Gersson Rosas stated that they’ve tried to “challenge the opinions” as much as they can to derive a suitable pick.
