The Los Angeles Lakers will defend their NBA title in the 2020-21 season. As of now, the league is in a great place and multiple teams will have a chance to contend for the title next season.
However, according to NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith, the Golden State Warriors will be the one to dethrone the Lakers.
“In terms of the direct question, ‘Who has the best shot to knock off the Lakers?’, it would be the Golden State Warriors. For a simple reason, it doesn’t need to be complicated like some people might try to make it.

“They have the greatest shooting backcourt known to man. There has never been anybody, backcourt in NBA history that can shoot like these brothers, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.”
This is not even a damn discussion. The @WARRIORS have the best shot to Dethrone the @Lakers in the West.. and we all know why! pic.twitter.com/M7PdvgWsIf

There are no doubts that the Warriors have been the most dominant team for the last few years. But in the next season, they will have to prove themselves again. The 2019-20 season ended them on a pretty bad note as they finished dead last in the league.
But with Steph and Klay back, this could be the perfect chance to return to the biggest stage.

The rivalry between Stephen Curry and LeBron James is nothing new. LBJ and Steph battled for four straight seasons in the NBA Finals, where Curry won three titles.
LeBron is now in the West, though, and if he were to face off against the Warriors, it would be the perfect matchup for WCF next year. While James has Anthony Davis by his side, Steph’s second option is Klay Thompson.

If the two Western juggernauts lock horns in the playoffs, it would certainly spike fans’ interest. But nothing is written on the stone yet, as no one knows how good the Warriors will actually turn out to be after their two superstars are coming off of injuries.
Will the Warriors become the hindrance in the Los Angeles Lakers’ path to a potential repeat next season? What are your thoughts? Let us know your views in the comments section below
