The NBA Draft is less than a month away, and teams like the Los Angeles Lakers are already looking for ways to bolster their squad.  The draft is a great way for teams to acquire new players and develop them so that they can become an important part of their team. Notable players acquired in the draft are LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Anthony Davis. But players need not be highly touted top-10 picks to be successful.

Players like Stephen Curry, Nikola Jokić, and Giannis Antetokounmpo were players that were drafted outside of the top-10. All three have gone on to be All-Stars, with Curry and Giannis becoming NBA MVPs. Many NBA teams without a top draft pick after the lottery will be hoping for similar fortunes.

The 2020 NBA Draft class is, according to many, not the most exciting. Therefore, it may be harder for the NBA teams to replicate this long-shot to success.

The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to add more depth to their championship squad. With players like Rajon Rondo and KCP possibly entering free-agency, the Lakers will want to get more players for the point-guard position. And it appears that they have zeroed in on a few targets. The Lakers only have the 28th pick in the first round of the NBA Draft. Unless they plan to use it for a trade package, they must use the pick wisely.

“Stanford’s Tyrell Terry got people talking by measuring around 6’3″ and weighing in at 174 pounds, a notable difference from the 6’2″, 160 pounds Stanford lists him asI‘ve heard Terry linked to the Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Philadelphia 76ers as teams showing interest.

Terry was one of the best collegiate players this past season. He averaged almost 15 points per game, at 44% shooting. Along with this, he had 4 rebounds and 3 assists per game as well. With the Lakers having very few draft picks in the near future, they will hope to use it carefully in the NBA draft.
