The NBA free agency is in full swing right now. Multiple teams are re-signing players, there have been shock moves by some players, and much more. We are looking at the best 5 players who are currently available in the 2020 NBA Free Agency.

1. Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis is the most talented player in this NBA free agency. Aged 27, Davis is in his prime and is one of the best defenders in the league.

Last season he joined the Los Angeles Lakers and got his first NBA title. Given how pivotal he was for them, James and the Lakers will be eager to re-sign Davis.

Rob Pelinka has already made multiple moves to prepare for a much younger and competitive support cast by bringing in Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell.

The Purple and Gold will now be eager to give a bigger contract to ‘the Brow’ who could eventually settle into the role of LeBron James’ replacement.

2. Brandon Ingram

Brandon Ingram’s career has revived in the New Orleans Pelicans, to say the least. The young forward had a decent 2018-19 with LeBron and the Lakers but failed to impress the King.

In New Orleans, Ingram showed his true prowess as a player. He averaged 23.8 points, 4.2 assists, and 6.1 rebounds per game in the 1st season at the team.

Many teams will be eager to add a player like Ingram to their side, but it will be very hard. Given the fact that the Pelicans are seeing a potential Big 3 of Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson.

The team now has also added Steven Adams from the OKC Thunder, giving them a great center. In a season or two, if they are able to keep all their stars, they can become serious contenders.

3. Bogdan Bogdanovic

Before the Free Agency kicked off, it was announced that the Milwaukee Bucks had signed Bogdanovic in a sign-in trade. When free agency opened there, it was clarified that the player had not signed with the Bucks.

Bogdanovic is a versatile playmaker and a solid shooter. He is officially available on the market now, and multiple teams can benefit by signing a player like him.

He averaged 15.1 points, 3.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds last season. The number of quality guards in this free agency has been scarce. With multiple championship teams looking to add point guards to their team, Bogdanovic seems to be a player who ticks all boxes.

4. Hassan Whiteside

It’s a major surprise seeing no talks or rumors surrounding Hassan Whiteside. Whiteside had arguably his best season in the NBA last season, averaging 15.5 points, 13.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists.

Whiteside has been in the NBA for 10 years now. Given his experience and his performance in the last 3 seasons, he should be in multiple team’s radar.

He might not be a pleasant player to watch, but his impact in the defense and as a center cannot be undermined.

5. DeMarcus Cousins

DeMarcus Cousins has been injured for quite some time now. In 2017-18 he tore his Achilles and missed almost a year before his return. He then played 30 games in the 2018-19 season before suffering from a torn ACL.

‘Boogie’ was one of the league’s most dominant centers, and opponents feared him. If he is a shadow of his earlier form, he can be a great addition to any team.

Returning from such a long layoff, he may not average big numbers, but can become a great contributor coming off-the bench. The Lakers will be interested in signing him back as a backup to their new signing Montrezl Harrell.

The free agency has just started and we have seen multiple moves. It will be intriguing to see whether the teams can retain these stars or will we see another shocker like that of the Hornets.
