NBA Legend Bill Russell Has Special Words of Appreciation for Lakers’ LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers ended their 2019-20 season as NBA Champions after 10 years. LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the team and enjoyed one of the best all-time runs by a duo.

The Lakers sealed the deal in a memorable fashion, blowing the Heat in Game 6. James finished with his 11th career Finals triple-double, racking up 28 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists in the process.

For his supreme effort throughout the entire series, James went on to win the 4th Finals MVP of his career. LBJ became the first player in NBA history to win FMVP with three different franchises!

NBA legend Bill Russell congratulated to LBJ for earning this owner. Russell tweeted: “It’s odd not being #NBAFinals but MiamiHEAT put up a good fight Strange times in the NBA Bubble.

“I may not be there but I want to say Congratulations to King James for winning the #BillRussellFinalsMVPaward & Congratulations to the Lakers.”

Bill Russell also had a short video message for LeBron James appreciating his terrific performance. “Sorry, I couldn’t be in the Bubble, but I wanted to say congratulations to LeBron James for winning the Bill Russell Award.”

Russell was one among many who congratulated James on this terrific honor. LBJ has fulfilled his promise to the city of Los Angeles and breathed new life into their winning culture.

One can only wonder if this is a start for the upcoming golden years for the LA Lakers.

For the next few days, the Lakers will celebrate being crowned the 2020 NBA Champions. However, once the dust settles, the purple and gold will have a lot of work. They need to either maintain this team to run it back or add a few other pieces to improve their flaws.

Next season there will be a blood bath for the NBA title as the Warriors and Nets will return with their fabulous teams. Along with that, King James will be turning 36, there is a chance he might finally start showing signs of regression.
