The Lakers are looking unstoppable. Their convincing Game 2 win over the Miami Heat has allowed them to go up by two games in this Finals series. While LeBron James and Anthony Davis dominated, a lot of bench pieces helped out. One of the most crucial bench plugs on this Lakers team is guard Rajon Rondo.
Ever since Rondo returned from injury, he has been racking up playoff assists. He has been steadily climbing the all-time playoff assists list this season. He crossed Kobe Bryant and Scottie Pippen before game two, and he crossed Larry Bird and Steve Nash with his 10 assists tonight.

Rondo’s historic rise up the playoff assist rankings may not see any big news after this, as he is 80 assists behind Tony Parker. However, with Rondo’s current play, he could easily extend his career and possibly move up to fifth on the list. Top three seems a little unrealistic, and four will be a mighty challenge. If anyone can take it, it’s Rajon Rondo.

Lakers heading for a series sweep?
With this Game 2 victory, the Lakers have emphasized what we already knew. They are the far superior team, and Miami has just about a puncher’s chance of winning. Expecting them to take four games off these Lakers is a tall order, especially because they have no clue on how to slow down LeBron James or Anthony Davis.

LBJ and AD combined for 65 points, with Bron shooting 56% and AD shooting 75%. High numbers on efficient shooting from these two superstars are essentially a confirmed death-sentence. It will be interesting to see if Miami can stop those two or even the Lakers bench.
