The NBA is set to return on December 22nd. Yesterday, the league released the preseason schedule, which will start on December 11th and end on December 18th. Let’s take a look at the New York Knicks’ preseason schedule.

The Knicks have four games lined up for this preseason. Their first two games are away at Little Caesars Arena against the Detroit Pistons, followed by two games at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Detroit Pistons’ off-season was weird, to say the least. They have brought in Jerami Grant and Mason Plumlee from the Denver Nuggets as the big additions to the roster.

The Pistons sold 24-year-old Luke Kennard for a couple of second round picks and the 18th overall pick. They reportedly did not even try to re-sign Chris Wood.

The Pistons, with all these moves, haven’t seen any significant upgrade or downgrade. The Knicks, with their recent additions, can surely win at least one game against this Pistons side.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are a team clearly focused on rebuild. The side does have some quality players in Kevin Love and Andre Drummond. The Cavaliers can be tricky, but the Knicks will expect to win both the games.

What will the Knicks be aiming for in the preseason?

After missing out on Gordon Hayward, the New York Knicks did not sign many big names in this off-season. Instead, they have added some quality players in Nerlens Noel, Alec Burks and Austin Rivers who were backups in bigger teams.

The Knicks will hope that these players can replicate their output in their increased role. This preseason will be crucial in integrating these players with the rest of the younger players.

The team have also added two great players in Obi Toppin and Immanuel Quickley from this year’s draft. The pre-season will also be crucial in seeing how ready their draft picks are for the NBA.

The Knicks have been on a nine-month hiatus. In this time, they have had multiple changes to their roster. Questions around the team’s fitness and the adaptability of the new additions will be answered in the preseason games.
