The Oklahoma City Thunder surpassed every expectation when they climbed to #5 in the 2020 WC. They also gave a heavily loaded Rockets a run for their money in the playoffs. All this happened because of Chris Paul and his amazing leadership. Now, the latest reports suggest that OKC will repay him with a gesture of their own.
CP3 joined the OKC in the 2019 off-season when the Rockets let him go for Russell Westbrook while also giving away their 1st round picks in 2024 and 2026. This trade proved successful for the OKC to some extent. But keeping Chris will be too heavy on their salary cap.

What’s the latest development on the trade of Chris Paul from OKC?
As per a recent report, a well-known sports journalist, Ryen Russillo, gave an important update on Chris’ trade. He expressed, “I’ve been told that they’re not going to just send Chris Paul somewhere that sucks,” Russillo said. “He’ll have some say.”
This development leaves the situation at a very interesting crossroads. Chris Paul has earlier expressed his willingness to move either to the city of New York or Los Angeles. Apart from these names, the Milwaukee Bucks are also a possibility. The Bucks have topped EC for two consecutive years now. They will have Giannis Antetokounmpo for at least one more year on their roster. Hence, this also makes for a lucrative trade if things go well for the Bucks.

Will Paul choose Los Angeles over New York?
After the aforementioned comment, the chances of Paul moving to Los Angeles seem higher than ever. These two cities bring the Lakers, Clippers, Knicks, and Nets into the possible options’ category.
But Chris Paul is already a 35-YO and yet to win an NBA title. One can make a calculative guess that he will prefer the Lakers over any other team because they’re the favorites to win the title. He has already spent six seasons with the Clippers, but to no avail.

It will not be easy for the Lakers to house a $41 million candidate into their already packed roster. For CP3’s services, they might have to let go of Danny Green, JaVale McGee, Kyle Kuzma, Avery Bradley, Talen Horton-Tucker, and Alex Caruso.
Do you think the Lakers stand a better chance than the Clippers or Bucks to land Chris Paul?
