Chris Paul and the Oklahoma City Thunder enjoyed an odds-defying season. The team was given the slightest chance to make the playoffs this year, but owing to CP3’s leadership, they entered as the #5 seed and exceeded their expectations. As a result, Chris Paul is now wanted by several teams, and the New York Knicks are reported to have emerged with an attractive offer.

There are massive speculations arising that Chris Paul will move away from OKC during the offseason. Obviously, a lot of teams would want to acquire the services of a player like him. Though Paul is 35, any team would consider him to be an invaluable asset due to his incredible basketball IQ.

The first rumor that spread like wildfire was the alleged trade between OKC and the Milwaukee Bucks. This made a lot of sense since the Bucks can do well with a player like CP3 on the team. Giannis Antetokounmpo could soar to new heights with Paul’s expertise.

Over the years, the New York Knicks have struggled to get a grip in the East. The team has picked up some valuable pieces in the draft. However, it has still been unable to revive its success from the 90s.

Marc Berman of the New York Post gave more insight on this matter through his article on the possible trade deal. Berman revealed that the Knicks might have to give up Kevin Knox if they’re to seriously pursue Chris Paul.

The Thunder are motivated to deal Paul and his massive contract after deciding upon a rebuilding campaign following Billy Donovan’s firing. Oklahoma City general manager Sam Presti likely will want a first-round pick and a young prospect still on his rookie contract, multiple league officials believe. According to the source, that young player preferably would be Knox, the ninth pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, who is coming off a disappointing sophomore campaign, Berman wrote.

The Knicks would also have to give up a first-round pick in the draft. Knox had a forgettable sophomore season as he only averaged 6.4 points on game night. But if the New York Knicks are getting Chris Paul in return for Knox and a draft pick, the deal would be a no-brainer and would work in their favor.
