NBA Trade Rumors: The One Critical Condition on Which Philadelphia 76ers’ Trade for James Harden Relies on

Ever since the Philadelphia 76ers hired the former Rockets GM, Daryl Morey, as their President of Basketball Operations, numerous trade rumors have emerged. The most prominent out of the bunch is James Harden potentially reuniting with Morey in Philadelphia.
Former NBA player Jay Williams weighed in on this potential trade rumor on ESPN’s KJZ. He was asked if this trade will help Philly in lifting the Eastern Conference title.
“Yes, they would. The one caveat to that, that would probably stop that is I wonder, if Tim Fertitta, the owner of the Houston Rockets, would actually allow Daryl Morey to leave the organization to say he takes the time off.

“To then go to Philadelphia and get hired. Tim Fertitta would have to be helping out the Philadelphia 76ers to do that.”
Daryl Morey’s departure from the franchise seemed inevitable after recent performances by the Rockets. However, it is a well-known fact that Harden and Morey shared a special bond.
If it weren’t for Morey, Harden wouldn’t have gotten a team built around him year after year. But is there any weight to this rumor about Harden to Philly?
Well, with Russell Westbrook’s departure almost certain from the team, Harden could be next. Because it’s a now or never case for Harden to potentially lead a team to an NBA Championship.
Can the Philadelphia 76ers really pull off this trade?
Just like the Rockets, the 76ers themselves have a dynamic duo in place. Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid have been leading the franchise over the last few seasons. However, they have failed to make any strides in the Playoffs.

As a result, many are wondering if blowing up this experiment is the best option for the Sixers. If Philly do decide to split up the duo, trading Ben Simmons away would be the best decision.
