The reason being that Kevin Durant invested in the company back when he just signed with the Golden State Warriors. Here is how Durant described his decision to invest in Postmates, in a year-old interview with ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne. “I’m hungry one day, and Rich was like, ‘Yeah, [this company will] bring you food from any restaurant.’ I’m like, ‘They’ve got an app like that? Can you call somebody up there? We need to get involved because we use this s**t on a day-to-day basis.’”

As per Forbes, Durant invested $1 million in 2016. Darren Rovell of The Action Network posted a tweet last year on an estimated jump in Durant’s investment value. Postmates isn’t the preferred delivery application for food or groceries. But, a lot of users certainly make use of the app’s beneficial features, and that in turn is spiking Durant’s returns.
