Unfortunately for Paul George, the ratings weren’t as pleasant as predicted. After George’s comments on his ratings, Kendrick Perkins was absolutely livid.

George was up to a rocky start in the initial games because of injury. Then came the Clippers‘ historic collapse against the Denver Nuggets and a lot of the blame went to Paul’s abysmal play in Game 7. Following this, rumors surfaced about some tension between him and his teammates in the locker room.

Therefore, Paul shouldn’t be surprised at the prospect of his ratings suffering a massive slump. However, a former NBA player thinks that this should be the least of his worries.

Is the Clippers’ Paul George focusing on trivial matters?

With all the struggles put together, George landed an 88 rating in 2K21. When asked about it, George was optimistic that he could get it to 95, something did not sit well with Perkins.

On ESPN’s The Jump, Richard Jefferson asked Perkins about his views on the matter and Perkins said, “Well, first of all, why are we talking about ratings? Why is PG even talking about ratings?

He compared George to Lakers’ Anthony Davis and bashed him even more. “You don’t hear Anthony Davis talking about NBA 2K ratings. He’s worried about championships. Paul George! Championships! No one cares brother!

He didn’t stop there, he dragged the Clippers through the mud and stated, “But look, this is the Clippers. All talk, no bite! We don’t want to hear no more.

“We want to see some biting. I don’t want to hear all that barking. Show us why your ratings should be high.”

Paul talked about his future ratings with a lot of confidence. However, it will take a lot of changes and transformations to achieve that. Do you think George is setting himself up for failure or can he actually bring his rating up to 95?
