ON THIS DAY: Former NBA MVP Derrick Rose Turned Back the Clock Scoring Career High 50-Points

Derrick Rose, the youngest ever MVP in the history of NBA, has been reduced to a role player now. But during his glory days, he left fans mesmerized with his game. However, due to constant injury troubles, Rose has lost that spark to his game.

But on October 31, 2018, Rose turned back the clock and left an everlasting impact on NBA fans. Rose was trying to make it back into the league with the Timberwolves. In that process, D-Rose scored a career-high 50 points in a 128-125 victory over the Jazz.

Along with his spectacular scoring burst, Rose pulled off four rebounds and dished out six assists as well. After the game, Rose gave a heartwarming interview during which the former MVP broke down.

Following the emotional outing, Rose re-surged himself and now plays for the Detroit Pistons. Although Rose doesn’t display that razzle-dazzle in his game anymore, he still gets the job done. In the 2019-20 NBA season, D-Rose averaged a solid 18.1 points per game for the Pistons.

Moving ahead, if Rose can retire as an NBA champion, it will surely increase his odds of becoming an NBA Hall Of Famer.

If this question was asked during the short prime of Rose, the answer would probably have been a unanimous yes. But the 32-year-old is no longer capable of leading a team all by himself. Additionally, if he spends the last few years of his career with the Pistons, it won’t improve his odds.

But many rumors suggest championship contenders like the Lakers are interested in acquiring him. If he makes this move, he might finally get the missing jewel in his crown; An NBA Title. Also, the Lakers are in need of a backup point guard, so it could turn out a match made in heaven for both sides.

D-Rose has already proved that he has a few years left in his tank. Retiring as an NBA Champion might give a good ending to the unfortunate career of Rose.
