Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra is leading his team to a top-four conference finish. Much of Heat’s success is behind the culture that Pat Riley and Coach Spo have created. Jimmy Butler was the final piece of this puzzle for the Heat and they are reaping its rewards, with Miami expecting to have a strong playoff run.

The NBA has a hotline where players can send anonymous tips on the violation of quarantine rules, and players like Dwight Howard have already suffered because of it. Jimmy Butler was one of the first names busted by the hotline.

Chris Hayes reported, “A security guard received a complaint of disturbance for loud thumping. Sources told me that the security guard went over to investigate, found the room, and found Jimmy Butler drenched in sweat with practice gear on from head to toe. He was dribbling a basketball throughout his room the whole time.”

Erik Spoelstra responded to questions about this incident and said, “That’s why I love Jimmy. Not why, but one example. There are many things that he brings to the table, but he has an unparalleled work ethic. He’s a driven basketball player that wants to help a team compete for a title and is willing to do anything. [Butler] one of the greatest qualities is his level of discipline and how he can discipline himself with his work.”

The Miami Heat are 17 games over 500 with a record of 41-24, as they sit as the fourth seed in the East. The team has a young core of Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, and Kendrick Nunn around it, with experienced veterans like Udonis Haslem still on the team. The sweet-shooting Duncan Robinson has added floor-spacing, which is the one thing Butler has struggled with this season.

Jimmy Butler has scored 20.2 points per game on 45.4% shooting from the field and 24.8% from three. Butler is averaging a career-high in assists, with 6.1 dimes a game. He also has a career-high in rebounds with 6.6 a game.
