James Harden is having a dream run with the Houston Rockets. Ever since he joined the franchise in the 2012-13 season, the Rockets have qualified for the playoffs every single time. They could not lift the title for 24 years, but they hold a good chance this time.

The Rockets without Russell Westbrook surely lost to the Philadelphia 76ers in a very dismal performance that they posted. However, James Harden could still add an impressive 27 points, 3 rebounds, and 10 assists in the 96-134 loss. This is something that can cheer up any losing side, because they know the leader is performing.

James Harden is an offensive blessing for the Houston Rockets

For the past three seasons, Step Daddy has shown stupendous growth in his performance. His 2018-19 season was the best ever in his career, even better than the present regular season. As per stats, he averaged 36.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 2 steals per game last year. That is a freaking dominant offense from the man of the hour.

We all remember how Stephen Curry took the world by surprise with his 2015-16 season that got the Golden State Warriors an NBA Championship. He scored 30.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 6.7 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. And here we are, back to James Harden because he has been a consistent performer. Have a look at his stats from this season-

This is some unbelievable statistics from the 30-YO point guard who is single-handedly snatching victories from the opponents.

Alas! The Bubble performance does not count for the MVP contention

If we compare The Beard’s record from this season to that of Giannis Antetokounmpo, we can understand why he would be a brilliant prospect for the win. The Greek Freak recorded a 29.5 ppg, 13.6 rpg, 5.6 apg, 1 spg, and 1 bpg. Now he beats Harden remarkably at the rebounds per game. Also, Giannis has played almost 6 fewer average minutes than Harden, and that goes his way. Plus, the Milwaukees have undoubtedly been more successful as a team.

Next, we have LeBron James with his comparative data breakdown of 25.3 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 10.2 apg, 1.2 spg, and 0.5 bpg. He is a passer, a playmaker, and his data proves it well. He is also the eldest in the lot and still going strong.

This shows how close is the race to the NBA MVP award, with the trio making the cut being neck-to-neck in other important parameters as well. Although, Giannis had a great run even before the season restart and hence has a stronger chance of victory.

Still, James Harden deserves some recognition for the greatness he is bestowing upon us. The Rockets will play Oklahoma City City Thunders in the Playoffs 2020 beginning this Wednesday.
