The Denver Nuggets‘ hopes to advance further in the postseason are hanging by a thread right now. They are down 3-1 in against the defensive juggernauts Los Angeles Clippers. Moreover, the teams look pretty exhausted, to be honest.

Jamal Murray is struggling in the series and that is one of the biggest concerns for the roster right now. it was Murray’s heroics aided the Nuggets to defeat Donovan Mitchell and the Jazz in the first round.

NBA analyst Shannon Sharpe pointed out the mistakes of the Nuggets in the game 4 matchup. Sharpe’s biggest concern was that the Nuggets were playing a very predictable style of basketball. Furthermore, he has some advice for Jamal Murray ahead of the elimination game.

Jamal Murray needs to take that next step, these are the games you got to shine in. You did what you did against Utah and you helped them advance. But beating Utah that gets you a little credit, you’ve gotta do that against the big boys now.” said Sharpe.

You gotta do that against the Clippers, you gotta do that against the Lakers because as the stage rises you need to rise with it and we haven’t seen him do that. Jokic is doing Jokic things, he has another 26 and 11 last night with 6 assists. But you are not going to beat the Clippers with one guy, that’s not gonna happen.” added Sharpe.

Murray has been relatively quieter in the Western Conference semi-finals compared to his first-round performance. The Clippers have defended him well and the results have tilted in LA’s favor. It is one of the reasons why his team is on the brink of elimination.

Right now, all they need is to boost their morale and Murray needs to carry the team’s offense on his back. Nikola Jokic is playing phenomenal and he had 26 out of 85 points in the last matchup. Murray is missing his touch and it is causing the team to crumble.

The Nuggets have already proved they are capable of erasing a 3-1 deficit in the opening round of the playoffs. They need to handle this series the same way and take it one game at a time. Will they accomplish this humongous feat? We will find out on Saturday night.
