The Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban in his recent tweet showcased love and respect for the accolades his side is bringing home. He is not the only one mesmerized by the Mavs, and especially by Luka Doncic. Twitter flooded with current players as well as the vets heaping praises on Luka. Damian Lillard also joined the wagon.
The Orlando Bubble has left players with nothing much to do when it’s their day off from the game. Mostly, they either play games like NBA 2K20 or watch other teams play. When Dallas Mavericks got their score even with the Clippers, there were many reactions. One of those was from the Blazers star Damian Lillard, who could not stop himself from praising Luka Doncic’s buzzer-beater.

The Big Game Dame reacted to Luka’s three-pointer by tweeting, “Big Dawg”. To this tweet, a Twitter account enquired what is making so many players come out and praise an opponent? And Damian Lillard reacted to it by saying, “A great player doing great things… I’m acknowledging it…”

Meanwhile, many users began mocking Paul George in the same thread. They noted that PG scored in single digits in his 45 minutes of playtime. He got just 9 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. This marks his worst playoff season after the 2011-12 season with the Indiana Pacers. The Mavs are making good use of these newly appeared weaknesses in the Clippers.
How has Luka Doncic faired against Dame?
Coincidentally, both the players have got themselves injured in the bubble. Luka recently got a left ankle sprain while Lillard had got his finger dislocated. But nothing that stopped them for performing.
Talking about the regular season, the Portland Trail Blazers and Dallas Mavericks faced each other four times and their record remained tied 2-2. Luka Doncic averaged 29 points in the four games that the two teams played. While Damian Lillard averaged a stupendous 42.5 points. In their last meeting itself, Dame scored a mammoth 61 points and snatched the victory.

If we discuss Luka’s run so far, we will see that he has done marginally better in the post-season than he was doing in the regular games. He averaged 28.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 8.8 assists in regular-season compared to 31.5, 10.5, and 9.8 in the same order.
If the Mavs succeed in winning this series, we can see more of Luka in the remaining NBA Playoffs 2020 season.
