After looking at LeBron James this year, it’s a little hard to believe he’s 35 years old. James is still playing at an elite level and has been performing at his very best in the postseason. The LBJ led Lakers are just three wins away from making a comeback in the NBA finals after a decade. However, this year’s Denver squad is on a rampage, having already defeated the Lakers’ noisy neighbors, the Clippers in a historic seven-game series. James and Co. will have their hands full with this young Nuggets squad.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis are without a doubt the leaders of this terrific Lakers squad. However, to win a championship, a team needs more than just superstars. They need their second unit to hold their end of the bargain and take over the game when the starters are resting.

For the Lakers, that role is performed by Alex Caruso. The 26-year-old guard is a great defender and has the ability to make shots when it matters the most. Moreover, he blends well with James. When asked about the biggest reason he and LeBron blend so well, he said, “I think we are both very high IQ players. Everybody kind of knows who Bron is and how he thinks the game and it’s kind of a legend of how smart he is and seeing plays before they happen and I got a little bit of that in me too.

That’s part of my game, anticipating plays and seeing stuff happen before it does. Me and him are just kind of on the same wavelength a lot of times.”

As Caruso mentioned, James’ play anticipating ability is unparalleled in the league. It’s one of the biggest reasons LBJ has led the league in assists this season.

Ever since the iconic 2016 championship run, LeBron has been unable to win another championship. However, this year, the Lakers have built a well-rounded roster for James. With Anthony Davis as his second option, James could be on track to win his fourth NBA title. Moreover, the Lakers’ supporting players have all amped up their game during the playoffs. In a nutshell, this year looks like the perfect opportunity to bring the banner #17 to LA.
