The Los Angeles Clippers traded most of their young assets to pair up Paul George and Kawhi Leonard this season. The decision worked for them as they carried them to the second-best record in the West.

Moreover, they defeated the Dallas Mavericks to take a 2-1 lead in the Playoffs. Kawhi Leonard carried the offensive load with 36 points in Game 3. Although the Clippers won, PG has struggled to get himself going in the Playoffs.

He failed to touch the 15 point mark in back-to-back games. If it weren’t for Doncic’s injury, fans believe Clippers might have been on the losing side.

Los Angeles Clippers missing PG’s scoring

Paul George is known for his lethal scoring abilities, come Playoffs time. During his Indiana Pacers days, he gave a hard time to several NBA legends, including Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. In his temporary stay at OKC, Paul helped Westbrook to lead them in back-to-back Playoffs appearances.  But this year, his touch has been missing. Furthermore, he has been inconsistent as well.

When asked about his recent struggles, George said, “I’m no James Harden, that’s not my knack, to just shoot the ball and score the ball. I can, and I pride myself on being effective on both ends, but it’s gonna be nights like this where I can’t make shots and I can’t allow that to affect my game.”

Clippers are eyeing the NBA trophy, but it will be tough for them to achieve this goal without George’s contributions. The road to the Finals is not easy in a stacked Western Conference. Each team is playing with much more dedication after the 5-month hiatus.

Can Paul George turn back the clock and become the second superstar that the Clippers are searching for? Well, if he can, the clippers might win their first-ever ring in franchise history.
