“Players Don’t Understand the Ramifications”: Lakers Player Hits Back at Shaquille O’Neal Over Recent Comments

Los Angeles Lakers’ Jared Dudley feels the NBA season needs to be resumed. He posted about it on Twitter retweeting an article that suggested Shaquille O’Neal saying otherwise.

It was an article from The New York Daily News that covered something Shaq said in the USA Today’s For the Win. “I think we should scrap the season,” O’Neal said. “Everybody go home, get healthy, come back next year. Just scrap the season. Just scrap it.”

Dudley tweeted how canceling the season would be a huge loss for the NBA which would have effects even in the next season.

“Players don’t understand the ramifications if we don’t play this year. It affects next season as well. No games, no tv money, billions lost in revenue.. There will be no vaccine coming next year also so IF we can be Safe which I have faith in the NBA we can l, we should play,” the tweet read.

Dudley added more replying to someone who asked what precautions could the league take.

“Well testing is going to be crucial. Besides that cleaning crews, throughout hotels, gyms in Orlando or VEGAS. Players have to continue making smart decisions on who they hang out with during there downtime. A positive test could sideline a player for 14 days.”

Dudley is currently playing for Los Angeles Lakers in his 13th season in the NBA. With LeBron James and Anthony Davis leading the team, the Lakers have been among the top teams in the league.

They were on top of the Western Conference prior to the league’s suspension with the second-best record in the NBA. Many believed they had a realistic chance at the title this season.

Shaquille O’Neal feels nobody will respect the winner if the season resumes

While saying the league must be canceled, Shaq stated that not everyone would accept the winner if the season does resume. He felt that the team won’t get the respect emerging suddenly out of a new playoff format.

“Any team that wins this year, there’s an asterisk,” he said. “They’re not going to get the respect.”
