The Los Angeles Lakers have finally made it to the Western Conference semi-finals. Losing the first game really made everyone lose faith in their ability to make it to the second round of playoffs. However, there was no turning back for them after that. They went on a winning spree and bagged 4 consecutive wins. The Portland Trail Blazers really tried to hold on without Damian Lillard in Game 5, but the Lakers pulled away in the last quarter.

In the 131-122 victory, LeBron James and Anthony Davis scored terrifically and bagged a total of 79 points altogether. Despite their stellar performance, there is one NBA Analyst who still remains unimpressed.

The Lakers win against Blazers is not a big deal

On Undisputed with Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless, Bayless stated his issue with the Lakers and it’s key players. “Here’s my problem. I appreciate what they’ve put up, those are staggering numbers. 14-19 for LeBron and 14-18 for his co-star. Those are outstanding numbers against anybody except the Trail Blazers.” said Bayless. Sharpe laughs after this comment because Bayless is once again critiquing the Lakers like always.

Skip continued to justify his statement and said, “The Trail Blazers finish their season, total if we add it all up, 37 and 43. They’re just not very good. But I first guessed that going in, this should have been a sweep. How they lost game 1, I still can’t fathom.” He raves about their first loss and explained, “LeBron had the ball in his hand with a 6 point lead with 7 minutes to go and down the stretch, they got run off the floor by the Portland Trail Blazers. A little bit of that was Damian but a lot of it was Carmelo and a lot of it was Gary Trent Jr.and LeBron had a 3 to cut it to 2 with 30 seconds left, plenty of time and he missed that.”

Undoubtedly, LeBron and Anthony’s partnership has played out very well for the Lakers so far. The are going to be facing the winner of the Houston Rockets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder matchup. As of now, the rockets are up 3-2 in the series and are the one’s expected to advance to the second round. The Lakers will have to step it up even more if they end up playing the dominant Rockets if they want a shot at the Championship.
