“Proud As Hell”: LeBron James Gives a Shoutout to Blazers’ Carmelo Anthony for His Inspiring Comeback

The wait is finally over! The Los Angeles Lakers and the Portland Trail Blazers gave us an exciting series to watch, and we now have a winner. LeBron James and the Lakers breezed past the Blazers 131-122 in Game 5 to clinch the series. Following the conclusion, there was nothing but respect between the players.

We got to witness an intense start to the fixture as the Blazers took the win. Many analysts predicted Portland could cause an upset and take the series, but the Lakers held on tight. Frank Vogel’s team really got going in the recent games to revive their shooting form and put up convincing displays of basketball.

Following the series triumph, Lakers’ Jared Dudley posted a message to Dame Lillard and CJ McCollum, congratulating them for an impressive series. The NBA veteran did not fail to recognize the quality of the Blazers, who entered the Playoffs after winning the battle for the final spot in the western conference. 

“Nothing but respect to @Dame_Lillard @CJMcCollum and the Rest of the Portland Trail Blazers! Helluva season coming from behind to make the playoffs! One of the best back courts in the NBA!” Dudley wrote. 

These two guards inspired Portland to dream big this series. Game 1 was an example of their offensive quality. Furthermore, Dame Lillard was phenomenal inside the Bubble. Though he had to leave early and miss Game 5, the 30-year-old did all the justice to his team in the previous games, averaging 24.2 points in the series.

Just how lucky have we been to have witnessed LeBron and Carmelo Anthony play? These two are fierce competitors who have been rivals since their high-school days. Both athletes are currently playing their 17th year in the league, which has been a gift that keeps on giving.

Melo and LBJ set the tone for their generation. If you roll back the years and enter the beginning of the previous decade, you could see the wonderful evolution of their careers, even though it panned out differently for each other. 

After triumphing against his best friend and longtime challenger on the court, LeBron made sure he lauded Melo for his efforts to make a return in the league. Carmelo Anthony’s career almost sunk after he was signed and unused by the Rockets. But now he has revived his form with the Blazers.

LeBron shared Dudley’s status and stated that they were, indeed, “facts.”

And proud as hell of my brother @carmeloanthony doing what he did on his return!!” LeBron added, to shower his colleague with respect.

LeBron James put up a dominating performance in Game 5, to record back-to-back playoff triple-doubles. Moreover, the King took control of the series in the last three games, where he put up consecutive 30.0 point displays. His series averages are 27.4 points, 10.2 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game. So,  we can safely say that playoff LeBron is back!
