To keep 22 teams at a single place and provide them with required facilities requires huge effort from the league. And the biggest challenge will be to keep the players safe. And so, the NBA has arranged three hotels for the teams based on their league standings.

According to USA Today, the top-placed teams (Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, Milwaukee Bucks, Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat) will stay at the Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs. Teams like Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets, Orlando Magic, Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies will stay at the Grand Floridian. Meanwhile, the bottom-placed teams (Portland Trail Blazers, New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, Phoenix Suns, Washington Wizards) will stay at the Yacht Club.

The huge price that the NBA has to pay for restarting the league

The players will also have resort-like facilities to entertain themselves. Apart from video games, ping-pong tables and DJ sets, there is enough space for activities like golf, fishing, and boating. For arranging everything for the players, the NBA is reportedly spending a fortune. According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the NBA bubble will cost them around $1.5 million per day to operate.

“The Orlando bubble is costing the NBA more than $150 million,” Windhorst said as per a video clip obtained from Twitter. “More than $1.5 million a day to put on, not to mention all the lost revenue they have from not being able to sell tickets.”

As previously reported, the teams will no longer have home or away courts. The teams will practice and play across three different facilities inside the bubble. The NBA has previously said that it was expecting a few positive coronavirus cases as they restart the league. Some people, if tested positive, will be isolated, but NBA commissioner Adam Silver recently said they might cancel the league if the number of cases increase.

Teams have begun testing their players and will soon start practicing together. The NBA will resume on July 30.
