The NBA has seen its fair share of talented players. But some players reach a whole new level in the league.

Shaquille O’Neal earlier had posted about his Big 5 comprising Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, LeBron James and Shaq himself.

In his recent appearance at the Big podcast with Shaq, Shaq said, “You can put any combination of 5, but can’t beat us. You can put good combinations, great combinations, but this right here is the perfect combination”

It’s easy to see why Shaq thinks his team is unbeatable. The team has an exceptional LeBron James, who at year 18 is still at the peak of his powers. In Bron, the side has a player who can score at will, and over the years has become a great distributor of the ball.

Then we have Allen Iverson, a player who single-handedly can take on an elite defense and can manage to put monstrous numbers across the board.

Shaq was probably one of the most dominant players in the NBA for a decade. The ‘Diesel’ would be a force to reckon with in the defense and will sweep all across the board.

In Kobe, the team will have an all-round player. The Black Mamba was one of the most successful players of the 2000s, with multiple scoring titles and defensive team appearances.

Then we have arguably the best player NBA has ever seen: Michael Jordan. MJ is the only player in the modern NBA to have successfully completed the 3 peat twice. MJ was a beast on the floor and is one of the best scorers as well as defenders the league has ever seen.

The ‘Snubbed’ 5

Shaq’s starting lineup is a formidable force. Barring them we have a 5 of Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Kevin Durant and Dwyane Wade. This might be closest to challenging Shaq’s big five.. When Shaq was asked about the same the big podcast said “That’s a great lineup, but they can’t beat us.”

Magic is one of the best ball handlers the game has ever seen. He is not a traditional point guard. He is 6’9 beast who had one of the highest IQs in the game.

Durant is a generational scorer. He has everything in his arsenal, from a lethal 3 pointer to a graceful layup. Kevin Durant can score in the toughest of the situations.

Then we have Kareem, whose resume speaks for itself. Kareem can be the shot-blocker and the rebounding machine that the team needs against ‘Diesel’.

Dwyane Wade might not be the flashiest name on the list, but is a deserving candidate to be on this list. Wade has been the Heat’s primary scoring option for a long time.

At last we have Celtics’ Larry Bird. In a 13-year long career, Bird became an All-star 12 times. Bird played a pivotal role in the Celtics winning the championship three times in 5 years.

Although these teams existing can never be a reality, it would have been intriguing to see them compete with each other.
