The uncertainty of the draft season is what makes it more exciting. With just a week to go, a lot of rumors continue to swirl around about which young star will land up where. However, it isn’t clear how and why these rumours come about, but one must not treat them as gospel. The three top picks this time are LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman.

At first, LaMelo was expected to be the No. 1 prospect, but if he slides down as projected, there is a high chance that Wiseman might take his place. Both the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves are drafting first and second overall picks. However, since there is no consensus about who will be the top pick, both of these teams don’t mind trading down.

Wiseman’s athleticism, along with his defensive prowess, makes him an incredible asset. There have been reports that he has looked extremely dominant during his workouts, and his enthusiasm to play has impressed many. It is no wonder the Warriors and Wolves have shown such keen interest.

However, there has been speculation that James wants to avoid going to the Timberwolves. This is because they already have a star center in Karl-Anthony Towns and he doesn’t want to be overshadowed. Nevertheless, the rising star is very excited for his big night.

James Wiseman looking forward to draft night

The NBA posted a video of Wiseman talking about how much all of this means to him. He said, “It’s going to be a special night… you’ve worked so hard for this one dream that you chased, and you finally get to it. So, I might break down, crying. You might see the sympathetic side of me. But man! My hard work has paid off so far and I am not going to ever stop.”

During his time at Memphis, Wiseman averaged 19.7 points, 10.7 rebounds and three blocks. The 19-year-old doesn’t have much experience and he will develop this slowly. But if he does go to the Warriors, he will be extremely lucky because they are not looking for a star that can lead a talentless squad.
