During mid-2019, nobody could’ve predicted that the Golden State Warriors were approaching a cruel test of time. Today, after having seen their fitness troubles, many are projecting that the game 6 loss against the Raptors marked doomsday for them. However, the face of the franchise, Stephen Curry, believes otherwise.

Just as the very unfortunate news of Klay Thompson’s injury popped up, the rumors about the Warriors’ fall were running rampant.

During practice, Klay suffered a torn right Achilles tendon, and it has put serious questions on his much-awaited comeback. So is it true that the Warriors do not stand a chance without him?

Stephen Curry has complete faith in his Warriors

In the 2006 period action film 300, when Dilios suffered an injury, King Leonidas sent him back to the village to spread an important message of their epic bravery. Perhaps that is the role that Klay Thompson will have to settle into, in case he does not return this season.

In an interview, Stephen Curry described how emotional he felt after he was told about Klay’s injury. He heaped praised on the shooting guard for his dedication towards the game.

But at the same time, he made a case that they can win even without the half piece of the Splash Brothers. Steph expressed, “We know we can compete with anyone in the league. It’s kind of crazy. We know how great Klay is. Don’t get me wrong.

“But we hear the chatter. ‘It’s the end of for us. This year is a wash. What are we going to do in the future?’ But we are in the moment right now. It’s kind of refreshing being in that category as guys that are chasing.”

The Lakers and many others stand in their competition

The Western Conference has always been crowded with extremely competitive and unforgiving teams. The Warriors will have to make their way up from #15 last year all the way to the top, and this won’t come easy.

They’ll face the Suns that now have Chris Paul helping Devin Booker and others. Kawhi Leonard’s Clippers will again be the top contender amongst others.

But the greatest threat will be the defending champion Lakers with Marc Gasol joining the duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

The Warriors will have to ensure they bring out the best in James Wiseman, and that Kelly Oubre can complement the styles that Draymond Green & Steph Curry bring to the table.

Needless to say, it has gotten tougher than ever for them, but again, impossible is nothing.
