When Steve Kerr took over as the head coach of the Golden State Warriors, the entire landscape of the franchise changed. A winning culture got embedded into the players. And so began the Warriors’ epic run to winning three championships after 1975. Although the previous season was an immense disappointment for them, Steve Kerr hints at what the rotation might be next season.

The 2016 season was one the Warriors will never forget. They went down in the league’s history by finishing the regular season with a 73-9 record. This is an 89% win percentage. The last time a team had a record as good as they were the Chicago Bulls. In 1996, the Bulls had finished with a 79-10 record with Michael Jordan and Steve Kerr as part of the team. Coincidence? Don’t think so.

Steve Kerr’s presence ended their 40-year title drought. Now that he has set a standard, the Warriors need to live up to that. However, there is a big problem that has presented itself for GSW. The duo that their fans were dying to see back in action. One of them is expected to be out once again due to his injuries.

There isn’t any clear indication of Klay Thompson’s playing status for the next season. Although the Warriors still have a good roster, nobody can replace Klay. That being said, what will the Warriors’ rotation be like?

Kelly Oubre Jr. in the starting 5 for Warriors?

In an interview with Steve Kerr, he was asked who all have fixed spots as starters as training camp begins. Of course, Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins, and Draymond Green are the obvious three. But Kerr has the fourth spot also in mind.

“Probably four,” Kerr said. “I mean, it would be hard for me to not see Kelly (Oubre, Jr.) and Andrew starting on the wings.

“(Wizards coach) Scott (Brooks) told me that he felt like Kelly was at his best on the ball,” Kerr said. “He’s got a toughness about him. I envision us using Kelly quite a bit on the ball.”

Kelly Oubre has never been given such a huge role. But with Andrew Wiggins and Green there beside him, Kerr thinks he can unlock more potential from him. Bringing in Oubre was a part of finding the best possible player to take Thompson’s place. If Klay is gone for longer, this could be Oubre’s time to shine. Do you think he can pull it off?
