If there was no Michael Jordan, the NBA wouldn’t have been as popular as it is now. Many say he is the reason the NBA is alive today. His accolades, championships, and cementing himself as the GOAT will remain etched in the league as the greatest era. However, to say that if Jordan was playing with today’s generation, he would be twice as better as he was, is unfair. A Former NBA player agrees with that.

NBA veteran agent David Falk is known for representing Jordan during his glory days. Recently, Falk made a somewhat controversial statement about Jordan averaging 50-60 points in today’s NBA. He also said that MJ could shoot 75 percent from the field. Naturally, critiques and analysts didn’t take this claim very well.

This is because there is a popular opinion about Jordan’s reign. People think the reason the Chicago Bulls‘ star stood out during that era is because there wasn’t much competition at that time. Although claiming this is unfair too, Falk’s comments are baseless as well.

While some Jordan fans might agree to Falk’s comments, Kendrick Perkins isn’t one of them. On ESPN’s ‘The Jump’, he made his stance very clear on this debatable subject. Zach Lowe asked Perkins, “Do you think that’s BS or real talk?”

“That’s BS,” stated Perkins. “You know, the bad part about it was that he was dead serious. Look, David Falk might be sitting back sipping too much of that moonshine because to say that Michael Jordan would average 60 points on 75 percent shooting, that is absurd! I wouldn’t even do that when I be going to the LA fitness. I’ll be going getting buckets.

“But to say so, to disrespect this generation like that, it’s just disturbing to me. And he’s out of like. Like Jordan with an average 60 points and 75 percent shooting, that’s just crazy!”

It is difficult to predict how players would perform in different eras. This is not just about Jordan. So, for Falk to make such a statement, is up for a debate. Do you think Jordan’s reign is evergreen and he would exhibit such prowess in any era that he plays in?
