“That’s On You”: Lakers Practice Session were Brutally Competitive Early in the Season: Reports

When LeBron James joined the Lakers after his second stretch in Cleveland, there was a huge question mark on what to expect from him. Fast forward two years. LA is just two wins away from winning an NBA championship.

However, the dream wouldn’t have fulfilled without the addition of Anthony Davis to the roster. From the first day of the 2019-20 season, the duo hit the ground running. They finished with the best record in the league. Moreover, in the postseason, the Lakers were a notch above their opponents in the West.

But, when AD first joined the Lakers practice, many players were surprised that he would nitpick at LBJ’s mistakes. ESPN’s Zach Lowe shared LBJ’s response to the mistakes being pointed out by his new teammate.

“Teammates were taken aback at first to hear Davis pointing out LeBron’s mistakes in practices. There were a couple of instances when they had a little back and forth, Vogel said. ‘That’s on you. Don’t try to deflect. That’s your rotation.’ And LeBron would accept it.

“In film sessions, Vogel nitpicked LeBron’s mistakes — same as he did for everyone else. LeBron responded. ‘He’s the first to own it,’ Vogel said. ‘I gotta get there. I gotta do that. It sets a great tone.’”

LeBron James and co. are now on the verge of bringing the NBA trophy back to LA after 10 years. In a way, the early encounters helped Davis earn respect from LBJ. Moreover, the duo has openly admitted that they are not jealous of each other.

The question of the hour remains – Can the Lakers put the series to bed in the next two games?

Is the Lakers vs Miami Heat Finals series already over?

The Miami Heat gave everything they had to reach the NBA Finals. But it seems the toll of a long playoff run is finally catching on to their players. After Game 1, the Heat had a major three injury scares to Butler, Adebayo, and Dragic.

Moreover, only Jimmy Butler was the one who could still play in Game 2. Even with his valiant efforts, playing short-handed against a team like Lakers is never an easy task. But the series is not over yet, the Heat still have a chance to make a comeback by winning the next two games. However, they need to be at 100% to accomplish this humongous challenge.
